CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2002 - You simply do not get old school wine at this price. R 95

CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2005 - This wine has an intense character. It is deep red to almost black in colour. The nose is redolent with flavours of rich black fruits, with background hints of eucalyptus and pencil shavings. Complex flavours emerge as the wine breathes, with hints of chocolate, mint and cassis becoming evident. The juicy palate has generous black fruits, particularly ripe plums, wild cherries and brambleberries. These fruits are enhanced by spicy overtones of cinnamon and cloves. Aromas of aniseed, blackberry, cloves and tea leaves, beautifully structured with a velvety texture. Rich vanillas round off the taste. The wine has a full mouth-feel, firm ripe tannins and a long, dry finish. Reductive winemaking ensures that the wine will last for many years. EatOut magazine awarded Best Organic Wine in November 2011. R 85

CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008 - Intense deep ruby almost black colour. Aromas of rich black fruits with hints of eucalyptus and mint. As the wine breathes, complex flavours of chocolate and cassis become evident. The palate shows juicy fresh fruits, especially plums and bramble-berries. The fruits are enhanced by spicy overtones of garam marsala, cinnamon, and cloves, with rich vanillas rounding off the taste. A lingering aftertaste, with firm ripe tannins give a perfect dry finish to the wine. R 85

CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2009 - 2 years in oak barrels. Exuberant character with distinct minerality. Flavours of black fruits, spice and vanilla followed by a long finish. No added sulphites - vegan wine. R 85

CAPE RUBY PORT TANDEM - Unusual port, low alcohol with a very clean taste. Interesting Cabernet flavour that lingers. Recommended R 85

PURE POTSTILL BRANDY 375ML 40% - Not meant for Coke, super smooth and aromatic. This brandy is world class and offers stunning value. 'From Wellington but not Wellington'. R 138

PURE POTSTILL BRANDY 750ML 40% - Not meant for Coke, super smooth and aromatic. This brandy is world class and offers stunning value. 'From Wellington but not Wellington'. R 255

CASK STRENGTH POTSTILL BRANDY 375ML 65% - From 10 years in the cask straight into the bottle. High alcohol does not over power a rich & utterly decadent brandy. The perfect gift for somebody that appreciates a good brandy. R 255

GRAPPA 375 ML - Definitely turns women into Sophia Loren and men into Valentino... Very smooth without losing character, the latter refers to the grappa. R 135
And the rest  . .

ERICA JOUBERT: FRANKI'S GRENACHE 2010 - 2000 litres produced and bottled with all processes being done by hand, from a small 20 hectare vineyard between Malmesbury and Darling in the heart of the Swartland.

R 75

ERICA JOUBERT: FRANKI'S - JOUBERT RED BLEND 2011 - 75% Mourvedre, 25% Grenache. Initially a shy nose, evolving later. Medium bodied wine and on the nose - red currant, meaty and some smokiness. Acid structure good and well balanced on the palate, with a good finish. R 75

PIETER EUVRARD: ORANGERIE WHITE 2010 - Description to follow. R 75

PIETER EUVRARD: ORANGERIE RED 2009 - 58% Shiraz, 28% Grenache, 14% Mourvedre
Swartland vineyards. Also his first vintage! Aromas of dark cherry come to mind first, with a good long finish, some earthiness and firm tannins. Can be enjoyed now or leave to lie for a few years.
R 88

DE EIKEBOOM PINOTAGE 2011 - Bright strawberry on the nose with banana and plum. Complex ripe fruit flavours extend to the palate where smooth tannins ensure a rich juicy moth feel. R 40

DAVID ARISTARGOS 2012 - Chenin Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc from the Paardeberg’s Northern and Southern slopes are blended with a Chenin Blanc from a small vineyard on Kasteelberg. Naturally fermented with minimum interference, the different components were blended before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pale yellow in colour, it is oxidative in style with spice, stonefruit, clean wet pebbles and perfume aromatics. The palate is rich and complex with layers of flavour. The blend overall has a noble rusticity about it. Only 3 barrels made. R 190

DAVID GRENACHE NOIR 2012 - 2 Barrels made, minimum intervention wine making. Full fruit sweetness sets of the dry tannins. Similar to the 2011 R 225

DAVID ELPIDIOS 2012 - Flagship of the range . Native yeasts, older oak, minmum intervention wine. Syrah 50%, Carignan 32%, Grenache, 13%, Cinsaut 5% R 265

DAVID CHENIN BLANC 2011 - David and Nadia Sadie's first single varietal wine, a Swartland Chenin Blanc. Made in a minimalistic style with a more natural approach with wild ferments, natural fermentation, use of older oak, no additions etc. being the norm. A fresh wine with excellent dimension. 1 barrel made. R 190

JURGEN GOUWS: INTELLEGO CHENIN BLANC 2012 - Luscious viscous wine. Minimal suplhurs, wild yeast barrel fermentation. Floral notes on the nose and taste. Well recommended. R 125

JURGEN GOUWS: INTELLEGO RED 2011 - 88% Syrah & 12% Mourvedre blend - fermented on skins and aged in older French oak barrels for up to 13 months. Fresh with great tannins and acidity. A wine that will age well but is already showing good promise and elegance. R 165

LEMOENFONTEIN PINOTAGE 2011 - Neil Pendock can write about wine, but cannot make it himself. So he and partner Luan asked Donovan Rall to make a Pinotage from very old unirrigated, unprofitable Pinotage from their Paardeberg farm, Lemoenfontein. They used barrels that were thrown out by the Ruperts and very expensive bottles. In fact the bottles were so expensive that a label is apparently not needed. Good, in fact very good Pinotage. Amongst the true comments were: "like a rustic Grenache in character", "best Pinotage 2011 tasted in SA" R 80

MEERHOF WINES - MOUNT ABORA KOGGELBOS CHENIN BLANC 2011 - This oxidative style wine is made from 35 - 45 year old low-yielding dry land bush vines. The grapes were pressed as whole bunches, fermented naturally in used 300 and 500 litres French oak barrels, kept on the lees for 4 months and stirred regularly to enhance the mouth feel and foster a sustained palate experience. Maturation for another eight months in the barrels before bottling. As this is unfiltered wine, sediment may occur. Best decanted and allowed to breathe to ultimately enjoy this mineral driven wine. R 96

MEERHOF SAFFRONNE CINSAUT BLANC DE NOIR 2012 - Light. Fresh. Crisp. There’s no turning back. this wine showcases the restraint of the Cinsaut variety in all its mineral ease. It is crisp and dry, so ready for the picking when the cotton is high and mostly everyone is good looking. So hush, drink up, smile and enjoy it. Because you actually can! R 60

MEERHOF WINES - MEERHOF ANTEBELLUM CHENIN BLANC 2012 - Made oxidatively by balls-to-the-wall young winemaker Johan Meyer - the wine is shy and begs to be coaxed from its self-conscious shell. A perfect
companion to shell fish with its mineral core and layered textures of fynbos and citrus. low alcohol at 12%.
R 60

MEERHOF WINES - ANTEBELLUM SYRAH 2012 - Bright ruby red with purple rim. First impression is Southern Rhone in a glass, leaning towards Chateauneuf. Clean, moderate intensity, perfectly ripe plums, cassis, subtle stony minerals, spicy, Szechuan pepper, neutral oak. Dry, savory black olive note, Provencal herbs, rosemary, good tannic grip, lending a great structure along with the moderate plus acidity keep the wine fresh and focus, further accentuating the mineral profile, alcohol is indeed near perfect at 12.5%, in fact fantastic for Swartland reds, super table friendly, now until 2020+. R 70

WILDEHURST RED 2009 - Chris and Joanne Hurst’s garden-vineyard in Koringberg with its well-equipped micro winery, produces mostly Mediterranean-style blends of rich Swartland character. This red blend of 62% Shiraz, 33% Mourvèdre, 5% Viognier has a pure, fresh, savoury blend with lavender scent, toasted herb/wild fruit flavours and a mere suggestion of oak. R 224

WILDEHURST CHENIN BLANC 2011 - Chris and Joanne Hurst’s garden-vineyard in Koringberg with its well-equipped micro winery, produces mostly Mediterranean-style blends of rich Swartland character. This Chenin has grapefruit and lemony tones on the nose, followed through with a sweet minerally backbone and pineapple flavour. R 115

WILDEHURST VELO RED 2011 - Chris and Joanne Hurst’s garden-vineyard in Koringberg with its well-equipped micro winery, produces mostly Mediterranean-style blends of rich Swartland character. 50% Grenache, 40% Shiraz, 10% Viognier. Robust and fires out peppery-toned flavours, a delicious mix of cassis, violets and well-moulded tannins. R 115

MUSKELJAATKAT 2011 - Harvested from old bush vines on the granite slopes of the Paardeberg. Co-fermented Cinsaut and Grenache. The wine has fresh and juicy red fruits up front with a floral undertone. Characteristic raspberry, red mulberries and cherries with rose petal floral undertone contributing to a fluid, elegant pallet. Grenache expresses itself subtly with blueberries and is more a structural component, responsible for a mineral tightness and a grippy grape tannin structure. This is a good indication of the aging ability of this wine. Serve slightly cool and decanting recommended. R 110

RENOSTERBOS BARBERA 2012 (Hof Street Winery)- A rare find. Earthy and smooth, cherries and spice. Good tannin balance R 150

RENOSTERBOS SHIRAZ 2011 - Dark and enchanting with ripe berries, rich coffee and hints of white pepper. An intriguing palate follows through on these intense flavours and finishes with a subtle mintiness. Offers excellent maturation potential. R 150

RENOSTERBOS CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2011 - An exceptional example of this classic variety with a nose of black berries and mint, hints of rose petals and herbs. A deep garnet in the glass, the palate follows through with well-balanced oak and fresh fruit flavours that conclude with elegance and sophistication. R 150

CHEVALLERIE FILIA BRUT NATURE MAGNUM 2012 (1.5L) - This Kap Klassiek bottle fermented sparkling wine was crafted with inspiration from methode traditionelle. Exhibits the linear minerality and extreme freshness that is the hallmark of the granitic soils of Nuwedam and the Paardeberg. The bouquet exhibits fresh apple, zesty citrus, an array of white flowers and biscuity-brioche aromas which beg you to enjoy another glass or two or more . Deserving of a patient cellaring for a good few years to allow the development of the full spectrum of subtle flavour nuances, that is, if you can restrain yourself! R 540
