The vineyards lie on the Kasteelberg side of the Paardeberg. They are low yield dry land bush vines that are old enough to have seen a few wine makers and viticulturists. Owned by the Kretzel and Stephan families and managed by Paul Kretzel.

MULLINEUX SYRAH 2010 - This perfumed Syrah has notes of black pepper, refined black fruit, smoke and herbs. The palate is full bodied and spicy, with a silky texture and a balanced natural acidity. The long finish is fresh and surprisingly long and supple. This wine will greatly benefit from decanting when drunk within the first 3 to 5 years after bottling. R 220
   
MULLINEUX WHITE BLEND 2011 - 65% Chenin Blanc, 26% Clairette Blanche, 9% Viognier. Lemon straw in colour, this wine has a nose of crushed rocks, green citrus, cloves and a floral perfume. Rich, full palate with a mineral core and a fresh, clove-like finish.

MULLINEUX STRAW WINE 2012 - 100% Chenin Blanc. Deep golden straw in colour, with a rich, viscous appearance. The nose is a complex, enticing blend of dried peaches, apricots and marmalade, with savory, nutty aromas of almonds, marzipan and honey. The intense, dizzying mouthfeel is balanced by a clean, fresh and very long finish of dried apricots. The wine is best served chilled at 9 to 11 °C. R 220

KLOOF STREET CHENIN BLANC 2012 - Delicious follow up to the 2011 best seller, this Chenin Blanc is all about freshness, balance and great drinkability. Sourced from one parcel of 30-year-old Chenin Blanc on stony shale and schist-based soils of Riebeek Kasteel Mountain, and two parcels of 40-year-old dry-land, bushvine Chenin grown in the decomposed granite of the Paardeberg mountain.Combining the richness of the lees/mineral structure with vibrant tropical fruit this wine is exuberantly youthful but remains elegant and complex. Tremendous value for immediate drinking.
